Faculty Welcome

Welcome to Advanced Audit and Assurance (AAA-INT)

A Message from Dr. Lloyd Shumba:

As a practicing forensic auditor, I do not teach audit theory in a vacuum. I investigate financial anomalies, corporate fraud, and compliance failures in the real world. In this course, we move beyond generic, theoretical risks. I will train you to identify, evaluate, and report on complex business scenarios using precise, examiner-focused judgment. We will strip away rote memorization and build the professional skepticism required to command this paper.

Teaching approach

Bridging the Execution Gap

You will not just learn the International Standards on Auditing (ISAs). You will learn how to apply them to complex, realistic scenarios. The focus is on drafting reports that earn professional marks by sharpening your communication, commercial acumen, and investigative skepticism.

Syllabus deep-dive

Not a list of topics. A system for professional judgment.

01

Regulatory Environment & Ethics

You are trained to recognize non-compliance with laws and regulations (NOCLAR), apply ethical safeguards, and evaluate corporate governance issues in complex real-world environments.

02

Risk Assessment

Live sessions ruthlessly distinguish business risk from audit risk, drilling deep into analytical procedures, material misstatement identification, and precise scenario application.

03

Evidence & Reporting

Students learn to critique audit evidence, evaluate sufficiency and appropriateness, and draft modified audit opinions that earn essential professional communication marks.

04

Other Assignments

Navigate specialized and highly examinable engagements including due diligence reviews, forensic audits, and prospective financial information (PFI) reviews with clinical accuracy.

The execution gap

Why students fail AAA.

Candidates repeatedly fail AAA because they write long, sprawling theoretical answers instead of applying the ISAs directly to the specific case study. Our live marking system specifically corrects this flaw, training you to write concise, mark-earning points anchored directly to the examiner's facts.

Success metrics

AAA performance is built through disciplined repetition.

Students receive rigorous technical tuition, live exam debriefs, marked practice, and direct tutor guidance. The objective is not merely to know audit theory, but to apply deep professional skepticism under timed examination pressure.
